About

I’m Anisa, the daughter of a botanist & a forester who grew up traveling the world on expeditions to find the rarest and most extraordinary plants. At age 6 I came upon a mighty Silversword atop Mauna Loa in Hawai’i and by age 10 I saw the world’s largest flower in Malaysia (it was half my size and carnivorous!). Because of my parents’ explorations, bountiful gardens, and chicken coops, I have been surrounded by the most fantastical wildlife characters.

I relish in living my life through that same fantastical lens I had as a child. As an adult, I enjoy finding ways to detach from this world and dive into my own nonsense daydreams of undiscovered plants and self-aware animals. Creating art is my form of meditation and escapism. My work encourages my mind to constantly daydream and never grow up.
